Two stamp sheets from a joint series issued by the Vatican and Poland, dedicated to Pope John Paul II's visits to his homeland. Each block depicts a papal visit in a specific year (1979, 1983, 1987, 1991, 1997, 1999, 2002).
Each block contains a stamp with a portrait of Pope John Paul II, a value in euros, and a quote from him.
In addition, the coats of arms of the Vatican and Poland are featured, as well as a list of the Polish cities visited.
The text "EMISSIONE CONGIUNTA" means "joint issue," which refers to the cooperation between the postal administrations of the Vatican and Poland.
