Products description
Envelope with a set of stamps from the Republic of Equatorial Guinea from 1975, dedicated to the "Holy Year" ("Anno Santo").
The "Holy Year" of 1975, also known as the Jubilee Year, was a special year of forgiveness of sins and universal pardon in the Catholic Church. The set contains stamps with religious motifs, including churches and cathedrals.
Some stamps in the series feature depictions of churches, while others, such as an Easter set from the same year, feature gold embossing and motifs such as "Christ before Pilate."
The man pictured is Francisco Macías Nguema, the first president of Equatorial Guinea. He was portrayed on a stamp with a value of 300 Ekuele in 1975.
