The fire salamander Lurchi is a comic figure used for advertising purposes by the German shoe manufacturer Salamander in Kornwestheim. The booklets are designed for children of primary school age, written in cursive script and written in rhyming couplets throughout up to issue 129. From this issue onwards, Salamander used a simplified text. Since 1937 Lurchi has been designed by changing illustrators and copywriters. From 1979 to 1994, the illustrator Peter Krisp (pseudonym "piiit") produced 34 issues and an unpublished parody.

Peter Krisp (piiit)
His cartoons have been broadcast in almost every country in the world; in Germany, his comics, cartoons and children's books (-lein) are better known.
Here his works have experienced a total circulation of over 40 million. LURCHIS ABENTEUER, the small green notebooks from the Salamander shoe stores, which have been reissued as anthologies by the Esslinger Verlag in the classic edition, make up the largest part of this.
As the exclusive illustrator for the entire Lurchi area of Salamander AG, he was able to bring the figure to new heights with its advertising environment.
In 1995, he ended his work for Salamander in order to participate for 3 years in the development and production of a new type of craft sheet system.
Then the "stick figures" caught him again. TABALUGA, PAPA MOLL as well as BENNI AND TEDDY are among the licensed heroes he is in charge of. However, many characters, including whole series of comics and cartoons, were developed by him.
Since 2009 he works mainly as an author and illustrator.
Scripts for industrial films (e.g. Vattenfall), numerous illustrations (e.g. Mindmatters) and some children's books (Carlsen/Pixi, under the pseudonym "Ulrich Larsen-Adam") are the result so far.
